International Seminar "Sustainability and Disaster Management for Roads"

8-11 February 2023, Cancún (Mexico)

The First International Seminar on Sustainability and Disaster Management for Roads was held in conjunction with the Mexican Road Association (AMIVTAC), the PIARC (World Road Association) Technical Committees 1.5 "Disaster Management" and 3.4 "Environmental Sustainability in Road Infrastructure and Transport", at the Grand Oasis Hotel, Cancún, Mexico.

Summary of the Seminar

The main objective of the Seminar was to provide a forum for the exchange of knowledge and experiences on sustainability and disaster management, as well as to present and discuss ideas on how to take into account the environment and disasters in road development and management.

In addition to presenting experiences and solutions in road projects in Mexico and the world. This will give us a more updated vision to be at the forefront, and a better preparation for the challenges facing modern Mexico.

The technical programme included outstanding national and international speakers, presenting a Keynote Conference, three Round Tables and twenty-five speakers, focused on the main theme of the Seminar. Italy, Japan, Belgium, Belgium, Czech Republic, France, Russia, Poland, United States and Chile participated in this event.

The seminar was attended by nearly 200 participants and, in addition, an exhibition provided an opportunity for various organizations and sponsors to present new technologies, products and construction systems applied in the modernization of roads.
